ELEVATING A MUCH-LOVED VEGAN FAST FOOD ICON FOR EXPANSION

Since its inception in Bristol's historic St Nick's Markets in 2012, Eat a Pitta has grown into a cherished brand, boasting six locations, including a recently opened store in Bath. Rooted in the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean, and propelled by a secret family recipe from Grandma Yolande, Eat a Pitta has earned acclaim for its falafels, celebrated for their perfect contrast of crispy exteriors against tender, flavourful interiors.

In anticipation of further UK expansion, Eat a Pitta engaged Hey! What?, looking to refine their brand identity while preserving the essence that has endeared them to a loyal following. Our mandate was clear: to mature the brand, positioning Eat a Pitta as a leading choice within the competitive healthy fast food landscape, without losing the brand's unique charm and identity.

A FAMILAR EVOLUTION

Our creative journey explored options from a nuanced evolution of their existing logo to daring new visual directions. The brand’s devoted fan base guided our approach towards an evolution that resonated with its original spirit, yet elevated for a broader appeal. The previous logo, characterful yet challenging in smaller formats, was reimagined through a hand-drawn logotype and a refined marque that echoes Eat a Pitta’s historical origins and determined ambition.

This refined identity went hand-in-hand with a comprehensive brand workshop, diving into Eat a Pitta's core values and narratives. The outcome, "Made with love from the Med," encapsulates their culinary roots and commitment to community, culture, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Through strategic creativity, Hey! What? has redefined Eat a Pitta for a new chapter, ensuring the brand remains true to its heart while ready for future growth.

Eat a Pitta partnered with Hey! What? to conduct a comprehensive brand audit and refresh across our business in early 2024. What really sets Hamish & the team at Hey! What? apart is that they invested the time and energy into understanding what makes us truly unique and they have worked tirelessly to ensure our vision and objectives have been met.

Crucially for us, feedback has always been received constructively and acted upon quickly throughout the creative process. The result is that Hey! What? have surpassed expectations and are proving to be an invaluable asset in achieving design excellence across our business.
